Primarily intended for a P12 beer style, BEST Red X® also adapts well to stronger brews when combined with a portion of BEST Pilsener malt to retain its red hue in higher gravity beers.

How to Use BEST Red X®
BEST Red X® can make up to 100% of the malt bill, which allows brewers to achieve an even red colour without the need for additional speciality malts. It’s particularly suitable for creating red ales, Altbiers, and Dunkels.

Enzymatic Activity
Featuring a diastatic power of 200 WK, BEST Red X® provides solid enzymatic action, supporting the mashing process effectively even when used as the sole malt.
Mashing
For optimal results, BEST Red X® should be mashed with controlled temperatures to maintain its colour and flavour contributions. When aiming for a stronger beer, blending with BEST Pilsener malt can help retain the red tones across different gravity levels.
Combining with Other Malts
